Teaching methods
SELECT ONE OF THE FOLLOWING STUDY GROUPS: A) ONLINE STUDIES OR B) PROJECT STUDIES OR C) SPRINT.
A) For ONLINE studies, all studying takes places independently online, following a course structure in Optima - learning environment. The studies are self-paced, you can enroll on any semester and get evaluated at end of semester.
B) For PROJECT studies, student will conduct development project at Laurea Digital Living Lab, Leppävaara. Studies require active participation in customer projects in teams. The coaching is available weekly, on Monday afternoons 14-17 in room 247. This way of studying requires entrepreneurial mindset, can-do attitude and collaboration skills. Project studies have two parts: 1) development project for customer and 2) 10-page theory report.
Purpose of 1) is to get students familiar with the practical work done in digital service development and marketing projects in companies. Purpose of 2) is to get students familiar with academic writing and content production. Both of these are planned to increase the skills in demand by companies and hence employability of Laurea graduates.
C) For SPRINT studies, there are two parts. 1) 10 -page theory report before the sprint and 2) Full-day sprint during March 25-29, 2019. This sprint requires participation between 9-17 due to its intensive nature and fast-paced groupwork for partner organisations. Location is in Espoo/Helsinki-capital region (details for selected coming by February 2019)
