Tavoitteet

The students will be able to
- Understand the principles of qualitative research and data analysis
- Outline the different approaches of qualitative data analysis
- Understand the stages in the analytical process
- Code and categorize qualitative data
- Report results from analysis

Toteutustapa

Instruction is based on blended learning. Students can participate in the instruction both at Tikkurila campus or online, as they choose. In other words, students can participate 100% at campus, 100% online, or combine.

Sisältö ja sen jaksotus

The course helps to understand and conduct qualitative research. It introduces the philosophical grounds of qualitative methodology and different qualitative methods. It increases capabilities to analyse qualitative data. It helps in making methodological choices of and advancing the student’s own thesis project through individual assignments and group exercises. It includes individual coaching with the instructor concerning the methodology of student’s thesis.
