The student is able to:
- act in a multiprofessional team in a intensive care unit, describe the special features of the intensive care environment and the criteria for patient selection
- describe the nurse's responsibilities and skill requirements in the intensive care unit and identify their own development needs
-apply the acquired knowledge base in predicting and evaluating changes in the patient's vital functions in the intensive care unit
-use the key methods of technical and non-technical monitoring and examination methods of the intensive care unit in a patient-oriented manner and considering the needs of different patient groups
- apply the acquired knowledge base when planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in the intensive care unit.
-recognize a change in the patient's vital functions and reacts as required by the situation
- describe the key risk factors for patient safety in the intensive care unit and prevent them
- describe national ethical guidelines for intensive care, identify ethical problems occurring in the intensive care unit and know how to evaluate ethical aspects of the activities of the multiprofessional team
- interact with the patient and their relatives considering the situation and the patient-oriented manner
