Toteutustapa
The course is partly conducted together with the course: Social Sector Service System and Social Care Legislation. The lectures will take place on Laurea Tikkurila Campus. Attendance requirement at the course will be 75% / 100% in order to achieve the required objectives. If your absences are more than 25% you are required to complete a substitute assignment assigned by the teacher.
The lessons are mainly conducted on Tikkurila campus as contact teaching, but they also include possible study visits. In addition to the lessons, students participate in a work-life-oriented project, which involves activities and tasks carried out outside of lecture times, and time should be reserved for this.
The course includes individual, paired/ small group assignments, working life cooperation, home study and knowledge sharing during lessons. Instructions for the assignments will be available at Canvas workspace a week before the course start. You will receive individual feedback for assignments from the teacher, and working life or peer feedback may also be utilized.
The course includes two modules:
1) Exerting influence in society (2cr)
2) Exerting influence in project work (3 cr)
Students can use AI in their assignments when constructing a structure for their essays, but all text should be written by the students. If a student uses AI in their work they need to explain where and how AI was used in the assignment according to the Laurea guidelines for referencing. Tournitin programm for plagiarism is used in all submitted assignments.
Työelämäyhteistyö ja/tai TKI
In this course we are having a LbD type of working life project that requires students to conduct the project outside scheduled lecture times. Guest lecturers may be utilized in lectures as agreed.

Based on the degree regulations (2024), the student accepted for the implementation is required to confirm their participation by showing activity at the start of the study in the following way:
In order to demonstrate activity, the student must be present at the first contact lesson or notify the teacher in charge of their absence to confirm their participation in the study. Registration will be rejected if the student does not report their absence at the start of the study or the reason for the absence cannot be considered justified. Another student can be taken in their place. The first contact lesson is 29.8.2025.
Mandatory presence at the first lecture, during visitors, when presenting group work and in the work life project.

Toteutuksen valinnaiset suoritustavat
According to the degree regulations (2024), Students are entitled to apply for recognition of prior learning regardless of where, when and how the competence has been acquired. ... At Laurea, there are two different procedures for the recognition and accreditation of prior learning: a) accreditation of prior learning (competence acquired in higher education studies at another institution) and b) demonstration of competence (competence acquired in other ways). The recognition and accreditation of prior learning is initiated by the student themselves. The student is responsible for demonstrating and verifying their competence. The student is entitled to guidance for the recognition and accreditation of their competence. Further information in the student intranet.
Opiskelijan ajankäyttö ja kuormitus
Workload of the study is measured in a way that to acquire the goal competence of the study, one credit corresponds to an average of 26.7 hours of work done by the student. The actual time needed varies e.g. according to prior competence.
