Encountering Violence in the Workplace (5 cr)

Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- hear and respond to the needs that the patient expresses by behaving in a challenging manner and this way prevent aggressive behaviour
- describe and explain the legal justifications for how and when the self-determination of the patient/client can be limited
- comply with the staff and patient safety principles in actions that limit a patient’s self-determination
- act in compliance with the well-being and care principles, controlling his or her own feelings and behaviour
- discuss challenging situations with both the team and the client as well as re-establish the cooperation relationship with the client
