Toteutustapa
Project implementation mode:
The project will be carried out as a P2P project in cooperation with Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK) and Zhejiang University.
Project content:
This project is a part of the following wider project. This project will start actual collaboration with partners in Finland and China and build up the network. Finally this project will organize an international workshop for the partners in Finland or organize an international workshop together with the partners in China.
Ideally, the project team will be comprised of two business students of Laurea, two health care and social services students of Laurea, and four students of HAMK.
The wider project:
1. The aims of the project
The aim of the project is to develop long term collaboration between Chinese and Finnish HEI's (Higher education institution) in the field of wearable intelligence by developing physical and digital learning environments, learning methods and educational materials. The emphasis of the collaboration will be in designing wearable intelligence solutions, developing materials, mecatronics, artificial intelligence and ICT-competences under the themes of wellbeing, health and productivity.
2. The project activities
Main activities of the project are four (4) 3-day long international workshops, where multidisciplinary student teams together with teachers, researchers, representatives of wearable intelligence business and experts of experience develop the learning enviroments, methods and materials of wearable intelligence. The workshops are evaluated and developed by using the feedback from participants. Between the workshops student teams continue to test and develop their ideas and prepare new ideas and questions for the next workshop. During the project some of the students will concentrate on creating and updating the projects www-page and in the end of the project there will be a closing meeting for all participants, partly in digital environment.
3. The anticipated results (immaterial & material)
Material results:
- new physical and digitals learning environments, learning methods and educational materials of wearable intelligence
- study environment for student participants

- stronger connections and networks between HEI:s, business partners and researchers
interested in using and developing wearable intelligence
- developing and strengthening the communication and multicultural skills needed in

The project may provide competence and credits for other modules as well: Project Management.
Guidance sessions and communication practices are agreed on a project-specific basis. The project suits students in blended learning programmes, the face-to-face instruction days scheduled for these students are Tuesdays.

If this project is fully booked, students may use post-enrolment to apply for projects and study units which still accept students.

The enrolled students will develop their competencies related to the study in question during this project implementation.
Project MAY INCLUDE ONE OR TWO INTENSIVE WEEKS where 100% attendance is mandatory.
The intensive working week may be actualized depending on travel restrictions. The Finnish team may visit China or a Chinese team may visit Finland. Laurea will cover the costs for flights and accommodation of the Finnish students. In case of the Chinese team will arrive in Finland the Finnish team will plan and implement the week's schedule and activities within the planned budget.
The enrolled students may be interviewed 7-9.12. 2022 in order to ensure commitment to project.
Daytime learning:
An independently studied part supports the project implementation, but it is important to take part in project teamwork and guidance on campus according to schedule. Studying requires active participation and commitment to interactive project work and 100% attendance during the intensive weeks. You will receive feedback for assignments from the teacher, and working life and peer feedback are also utilised.

According to the degree regulations (section 18) "students must be present for the first contact teaching session, or they must notify the responsible teacher of their absence to confirm they intend to participate in studies… Registration for the study unit will be rejected, if the student does not notify the teacher of being absent from the first contact teaching session or the reason for their absence cannot be considered justified." The first contact session in a project means the first meeting between the project team and the supervisor (pre-brief). Pre-briefing 17.1. 9 - 11 o'clock, Laurea Hyvinkää Campus, room 102.
It is compulsory to participate in the project kickoff meeting so that everyone participating in the project will receive the information on the project task. Kickoff meeting 17.1. 12 - 13.30 o'clock, Laurea Hyvinkää Campus, room 102.
Project guidance is offered on a weekly basis. The student can compare the available guidance sessions in Timetable Engine and select those projects/studies that do not overlap.

Kansainvälisyys toteutuksella
The project will be implemented with Zhejiang University. The project may include one intensive week in China or one in Finland.
Toteutuksen valinnaiset suoritustavat
All students are entitled to demonstrate their competence. The recognition and accreditation of prior competence is initiated by the students themselves. The competence is recognized and accredited by the teacher responsible for the studies or another person designated to the position. The assessment is carried out according to the same assessment criteria and, as a rule, same grading scale as that adopted for the corresponding study unit or module. The student is entitled to apply for accreditation of prior competence regardless of where, how and when the competence has been acquired. The student may also seek accreditation of competence to be acquired on the job as part of their degree (work-based learning). ... The student is responsible for demonstrating and verifying their competence and for providing sufficient information.

The student spends approximately 16 hours of weekly working time on the project; in other words, approximately 8 hrs for teamwork and approximately 8 hrs for independent work per week.

The study unit corresponds to the requirements of Bachelor's level education.
This study implementation is a P2P project meaning that the project is completed in a small group and guided by a teacher. Participating in the project requires attendance in the project guidance meetings and group meetings.
