Business & Entrepreneurship Project (5 op)

Tavoitteet

After completing the project, the student is able to
- differentiate internal and external entrepreneurship and act accordingly
- analyze business potential in different ideas, markets or segments
- use business model canvas as a planning tool
- optimize functions and offerings according to the context

Aika ja paikka

Course will be held between March and May. First lessons are scheduled in early March and deadline for your personal essay will take a place in end of May.

All material and book tips are given in start of the course.

Toteutustapa

This course is a combination of lessons, visits and meetings with entrepreneurs anc companies and your own refletion to the themed topics.

We will do part of this course together with working life by visiting and getting know to companies and entrepreneurs.

Opiskelijan ajankäyttö ja kuormitus

Lessons and events or visits are about 60% of your working time. Other 40% will be your own work with assingments.

Did you knew that 93,3% of Finnish companies are micro companies, so they have less than ten employees? (According the study of Bureau of Statistics, 2016) In this course we will found out more what kind of is this huge sector of companies and how do they work. The teacher of this course is one of these micro entrepreneurs, and guide you to understand small businesses. You will also meet some other entrepreneurs and get to know Finnish companies. You will write an essay about you as an entrepreneur and consider your personal skills and characteristics as a potential entrepreneur.
