- speak and understand Finnish in basic and familiar everyday situations
- write short and simple texts about familiar topics
- to use basic grammar structures

Teaching methods
Implemented online and as contact studies, if possible. Individual studies in Canvas, online lessons in Zoom / contact lessons in Lohja Campus.

Student workload
5 credit points equals 135 hours of student's work. This consist on individual studies and group work and attending the contact lessons.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The student has completed all course assignments and hence shows level A1.3 - A2.1 (CEFR, see https://rm.coe.int/CoERMPublicCommonSearchServices/DisplayDCTMContent?documentId=090000168045bb5 2).
Content scheduling
Chapters 5-7 in Oma suomi: describing one's home and close environment, making requests when shopping, talking about seasons, weather and clothing, getting tickets to public transportation, expressing ownership and location, writing a simple e-mail.
