In the autumn of 2019, it is possible to carry out this optional IBS course in an international short exchange. This course may, under certain conditions, replace (if desired) the course “R0219 Service Business Management” or include it in elective studies.
Ten business students from Laurea will be admitted to the IBS course. Laurea supports the cost of the below mentioned trip to Germany by EUR 250 and Karlsruhe UAS is responsible for the accommodation costs in Germany.
Course (IBS) will be implemented together with Karsruhe UAS (HsKA) (similar implementations have been carried out twice a year since academic year 2014-2015)
Course contents and methods outline:
- Strategic planning and decision making
- Exploiting business information in decision making
- The so-called virtual learning environment (Business Simulation Game) is used as a learning tool
- Students work in a “Finnish-German mixed team”, i.e. two German and two Finnish students per team. A total of 5 teams, 20 students.
- In Business Simulation Game (Cesim Global Challenge) each team leads their own virtual company and makes sales forecasts, production, R&D, marketing, investment, and financing decisions
- Teams compete with each other
Course Includes two mandatory intensive periods:
