The student is able to
- evaluate the impact of the changing environment on business operations
- assess preconditions for internationalisation for a company
- search for information to assess market opportunities
- establish a market entry plan
- act situation-oriented in cross-cultural sales negotiations

Teaching methods

In Market Entry course you will…
• Understand the business potential in different markets.
• Find information of your target countries and the markets and consumers.
• Optimize the product/service offering to meet the market needs.
• Create the go-to-market plan for your market.
• Make go-to-market plan with your team: You will plan where your products will be sold, what products, what price levels and WHY?
• Learn visual way to present your findings and work; you will also use social media tool as one of the report method.
This 10 credit course of market entry and international business contain team work in international teams and theoretical background of the topic.

Please notice that there is longer pause in lectures between end of September and end of October. This is not pause from course but independent work with written assignment (longer essay about customer behaviour), and crucial part of the course.

In this course we will work in international teams with incoming exchange students. It is great opportunity to learn English and strengthen your skills in international team work. You will learn a lot from the new countries and the international markets.

This course receive 20-25 places for international students coming in their exchange program in Laurea Tikkurila.
