Learning outcomes

The student is able to:
- define fundamental organisations’ and society’s preparedness compliance requirements, best practices and apply those
- define society’s preparedness operators and their roles
- plan, assess and develop emergency preparedness and create related procedures and guidelines

Location and time

Schedule is adjusted for blended learning curriculum students.
Study unit begins with webinar on Fri 4.9. Presence (or notification of absence of that day) required for accepting place in study unit).
Before the webinar familiarize yourself with Canvas workspace and do the pre-assignment. Workspace opens at the end of August.
The timetable of the assignments of the study unit is available in Canvas.
You can begin the individual portfolio in the beginning of the study unit.
The group project begins on 2.10.

Study unit begins 4.9.2020 at 9:00. Presence (or notification of absence of that day) required for accepting place in study unit.
Deadline of the group assignment is 1.12.
Groups will present their learning assignments on 4.12.
Deadline of the portfolio is 4.12.
Other dates are in Pakki and details of study unit will be explained on first contact session as well as Canvas.

Content scheduling

Studying the theory of preparedness with lectures in class, video lectures, material in Canvas and given assignments..
Study themes are self-preparedness and societys´preparedness.
The implementing module of the study unit is a group project for client.

Qualifications

Before enrolling to this study unit, you should have adequate competence level of safety, security and risk management, which you can acquire for example by completing study unit Business Continuity 5 credits or Basics of Corporate Safety, Security and Risk Management 10 credits
