Learning outcomes

The student is able to:
- reflect on the different manifestations of a crisis and act in a multidisciplinary team as an active coordinator of nursing care provided for patients undergoing a crisis
- pay attention to the individual needs for care in the different stages of a crisis and act in a holistic
- in different care situations, bring up the client’s experiences of the crisis and provide support for dealing with it through conversation
- analyse the effects of emotions evoked by a trauma, and also in encounters related to care after the trauma
- guide the client in choosing the right kind of crisis therapy and form of further treatment
- implement safe medication treatment as part of the support provided to a person experiencing a crisis
- use work guidance and collegial support to prevent indirect traumatisation
