Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- develop their supervisor and coaching skills
- lead communications in team and customer situations

Teaching methods

ACTING AS A PROJECT MANAGER = You will lead a 15-ECTS P2P project in practice. The project can will be conducted in English (Service Design / Digital Marketing and Sales project).

NOTE, NOTE!: When acting as a project manager in the aforementioned type of project, you will only receive the credit points (15 credits) for acting as a project manager. NO double credits from both!
In this course, there are no separate contact meetings intended for the group. Contact meetings occur with the project team and the lecturer.

When choosing the project you want to lead, consider whether it is a remote or on-campus project:

Service Design and Digital marketing and Sales project are conducted as a campus projects (contact learning) at Hyvinkää Campus
ON-CAMPUS PROJECT (= The team meets regularly on campus weekly): Course platforms: TEAMS and Canvas (Project Learning Canvas). The course involves pair or group work. FEEDBACK: Feedback is given orally in supervisor meetings, by commenting on documents and outputs produced by students, as peer feedback, and as feedback from the client.

This project, as described in this implementation plan, serves as a learning environment for freely elective complementary skills studies. Any other skills developed during the project will be agreed upon during the project.

The project supervision and working times can be viewed in Lukkarikone. Communication practices are agreed upon on a project-by-project basis. Check the supervision and meeting times of your chosen project, not the schedule of this course, as there is none.

Evaluation methods and criteria

"Competence assessment is based on the descriptions of objectives in the curricula, and the level of competence is assessed according to the assessment criteria listed in the implementation plan for the studies." (Laurea degree regulations 2024).

Evaluation is discussed at the beginning of the project.


In this study unit the assessing of the competences will be done by using the criteria set for requirement level II.

To achieve grade 5 student must be able to
- analyse the acquired information, draw conclusions and combine theoretical knowledge with experiential knowledge

To achieve grade 3 student must be able to
- critically evaluate information and justify their actions with science-based knowledge

To achieve grade 1 (or pass) student must be able to
- use professional concepts in a consistent manner and demonstrate their familiarity with the knowledge basis
- report and communicate in a professional manner

Professional practice and workplace development

To achieve grade 5 student must be able to
- evaluate the applicability of produced knowledge, skill or idea to other contexts as well as their impact
- anticipate needs of customers and/or co-operation partners

To achieve grade 3 student must be able to
- propose creative solutions at work

“Students who has failed to demonstrate their competence in accordance with the approved level must supplement or retake their study attainment in a manner and schedule defined by the teacher of the study unit. In project studies, students must supplement the competence missing from the project’s learning outcomes until their competence can be assessed as passing." (Degree regulations 2024.)
