- discover the basics in systems thinking, principles and frameworks
- analyze the management of organizations from the systems thinking and complexity leadership theory perspectives
- construct and promote the scientific knowledge of systems thinking into management
- influence the use of systems thinking in working life

HY00CB93 Johtajuus kompleksisessa maailmassa/ Leadership in Complex world
This study is implemented biennial in English AUTUMN 2024 and in Finnish AUTUMN 2025
The course is carried out as an interactive online implementation: The study is carried out as an online implementation and does not require an on-campus entry. There is no classroom teaching. The course is implemented in Canvas learning environment, which consists of study materials and assignments. The course requires activity and commitment into interactive study. Assignments may include personal feedback by teacher and peer-review.
The implementation of the course is supported by a learning environment built in Canvas.

Exam schedules
The degree regulations (2024): the student is expected to confirm her/ his participation on the course by active start: by introducing yourself (orientation module) by the deadline. Execute the introduction assignment as soon as possible and by the deadline.

Complementary studies

The course is 5 ECTS - 1 ECTS requires 26,7 h of work by the student.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The course is assessed on a Pass/Fail (HYV/HYL) scale, with point system. Maximum points is 100 - to pass, 70 points is needed
Content scheduling
This basic course on complexity science focuses on to understand how systems thinking, complexity science and complexity leadership theory relate to managing organizations. It is an introductionary course to systems thinking and complexity science from a leadership perspective
