Toteutustapa

In this course you plan your studies and reflect on your career. One of the deliverables of the course is the preparation of a career path plan. In addition to this, you will have two PSP discussions with your tutor, for which you will need to prepare. For preparation instructions, see Canvas workspace Study Skills and Professional Orientation YY00BN52-3118, under Prepare for your PSP discussions.

Blended learning implementation:
The course is supported by a learning environment built into Canvas. The course has scheduled teaching or tutoring both on campus and remotely. Teaching is not recorded. Assignments are subject to personal feedback by the instructor.

Toteutuksen tärkeät päivämäärät

According to Laurea's Degree Regulations: "Students must be present for the first contact teaching session, or they must notify the responsible teacher of their absence to confirm they intend to participate in the study unit. Alternatively, the teacher may specify a different manner for the student to confirm that they intend to participate in the implementation. The completion of these measures may be required within one week of the start of the implementation. The application of the aforementioned approach requires that the teacher notifies the students accepted for the implementation of the practice and that the practice is specifically mentioned in the study unit’s implementation plan. If the student has a justified reason for not attending the first contact teaching session or for not confirming their intention to participate in the studies in the manner required by the teacher, the student must contact the responsible teacher to agree on participation in the implementation. Their enrolment will be rejected, if the student does not notify the teacher of being absent from the first contact teaching session or the reason for their absence cannot be considered justified. Another student may be selected in their place."

The compulsory assignment for the study unit is "An action plan for the future" in the Canvas workspace.

Toteutuksen valinnaiset suoritustavat

According to Laurea's Degree Regulations, "Students are entitled to apply for recognition of prior learning. The initiative for the recognition and accreditation of acquired competences is taken by the student. The competence is recognised and accredited by the teacher responsible for the study unit or another person designated to the position. The assessment is carried out according to the same assessment criteria and, as a rule, same grading scale as that adopted for the corresponding study unit or module. Students are entitled to apply for recognition of prior learning regardless of where, when and how the competence has been acquired. Students can also apply for recognition of competences acquired through work as part of their degree (work-based learning). ... The student is responsible for demonstrating, certifying and providing sufficient evidence of competence. The assessment of competence is carried out jointly by the student and the teacher receiving the demonstration. " See more information on the Student Intranet.

Opiskelijan ajankäyttö ja kuormitus

One credit corresponds to an average of 26.7 hours of student work. This includes a career planning task.. In addition, the course includes a graduation and PSP discussion, each lasting half an hour.
