Supporting Sensory Functions (5 op)

Tavoitteet

The student is able to:
- describe the impact of disorders or defects in sensory functions on the client’s functional ability and mobility
- apply his/her expertise in physiotherapy and improve the client’s functioning functional ability and mobility taking into account the disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems and the client’s resources
- evaluate the client’s functional capacity and changes to this as well as the effectiveness of physiotherapy

Toteutustapa

This course is designed for the daytime students and requires your active participation in the meetings in the Otaniemi campus on a weekly basis.

In this course you will learn the basics of neurophysiology and physiotherapy of the most common neurological conditions. Study includes contact meetings, independent studying and working with own client under teachers supervision. The course includes workshops, where is 100% attendance.

Students have their own patients in a course.

Orientation to the course is 16th January 2024 in Otaniemi campus.

See other contact dates from timetable in Pakki. Studies are from January to March 2024 and they are contact meetings in Otaniemi campus.

Final exam is on 21st March 2024. Exchange students will have individual assignments instead of the exam.

Toteutuksen valinnaiset suoritustavat

Laurean tutkintosäännön mukaisesti kaikilla opiskelijalla on oikeus osaamisensa näyttämiseen. Aloitteen hankitun osaamisen tunnistamisesta ja tunnustamisesta tekee opiskelija. Osaamisen tunnistaa ja tunnustaa moduulista tai opintojaksosta vastaava opettaja tai muu korkeakouluyksikön johtajan nimeämä henkilö. Arvioinnissa noudatetaan samaa arviointikriteeristöä ja arviointiasteikkoa kuin opintojaksolla. Katso lisätietoa opiskelijaintrasta.

Opiskelijan ajankäyttö ja kuormitus

Studies includes attendance in lecturers and workshops in Otaniemi Campus as well as independent studying. Remember to book enough time for independent studying. Own clients are seen in contact meetings.

5 credit units means total of 135 hours of work for students.
