Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- display intrapreneurship in their work
- work as part of a team to develop client-oriented and effective services
- critically evaluate the impact and influence of services promoting health and well-being and to recognise the needs for reform from the perspective of individuals, client groups and society
- commit as a part of a team to develop client-oriented and effective services
- plan, implement and evaluate an innovation project in their own field utilising multidisciplinary expert communities and networks
- employ applicable methods of research, development work and service design in an innovation project
- evaluate the results, process and outcome of an innovation project in relation to the set goals
- communicate product and service solutions and business ideas in a convincing manner
- produce high-quality and motivating guidance material for the customer and the work community
- identify the special features of entrepreneurship in the social and health care sector and the significance of entrepreneurship to the service system
Teaching methods
Co-creation of health and social services module (4 ECTS): you focus on human-centred development activities and service design. You will learn the basics of co-creation together with your student team. Co-creation projects are carried out on behalf of a genuine working life partner.
Nurse as an Entrepreneur module (2 ECTS): you will learn about the diversity of entrepreneurship and the special features of entrepreneurship in the social and health care services sector. You will also come up with ideas for a new kind of service or product during the course.

Evaluation methods and criteria
Assesment according to Laurea criteria level 2:
PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE BASIS, INFORMATION SEARCHING AND REPORTING
To achieve grade 5 student must be able to
- analyse the acquired information, draw conclusions and combine theoretical knowledge with experiential knowledge
To achieve grade 3 student must be able to
- critically evaluate information and justify their actions with science-based knowledge
To achieve grade 1 (or pass) student must be able to
- use professional concepts in a consistent manner and demonstrate his/her familiarity with the knowledge basis
- report and communicate in a professional manner
PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE AND WORKPLACE DEVELOPMENT
To achieve grade 5 student must be able to
- evaluate the applicability of produced knowledge, skill or idea to other contexts as well as their impact
- anticipate needs of customers and/or co-operation partners

- propose creative solutions at work
- promote professional co-operation and enhance customer and partner relationships

To achieve grade 5 student must be able to
- evaluate and develop the team’s entrepreneurial and responsible approach to work
- evaluate the possibilities for utilising competence and plan his/her personal development and development of the team

- act in a manner that promotes the team’s entrepreneurial and responsible approach to work
- describe the development of his/her competence in relation to the learning outcomes
To achieve grade 1 (or pass) student must be able to
- describe the significance of his/her actions for successful co-operation
- describe his/her competence in relation to the learning outcomes
“Students who have failed assignments or examinations required for passing a study unit must supplement or retake their study attainment in a manner and schedule defined by the teacher of the study unit. ... A failed examination or other study attainment can be retaken twice. A failure to attend an actual examination is considered to be one completion attempt.” (Laurea degree regulations.)
