Teaching methods

WANT TO UPGRADE YOUR DIGITAL ANALYTICS SKILLS?

The amount of data is growing rapidly in the world, in any field of business. This requires deeper understanding the consumer/user behavior, data analytics skills and understanding of big data and artificial intelligence (AI).

This is an experimental sprint week in August, week 33, 14-20.8.2023. It requires FULL TIME PARTICIPATION from students 9-17, Monday to Friday.

Students will be RANDOMLY divided into two groups. First group will do the project & team work ONLINE and the other group will be doing the same FACE-TO-FACE at Laurea Leppävaara -campus (at Digital Living Lab/009). The content and facilitation for both methods is the same and coaches are available all the time. Students will know their group during June 2023.

The students of this study unit will participate in the research about learning. The permission will be asked from all the students for collecting, analyzing and publishing the data (anonymously). The research will be conducted by main coach, Asko Mononen, who is currently doing his PhD studies at the National Defence University of Finland related to pedagogics and AI. The pre-and post questionnaires will be conducted to find out the student’s attitudes and experiences, and they do not require any preparation, nor affect the grading. The grading for this study unit is passed/failed, so all actively participating students will pass the course.
