Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- communicate effectively online and face-to-face for work-related interpersonal and intergroup communications
- take into consideration the communicative requirements of different target groups and communication channels
- produce various text types as appropriate to the situation
- analyse and interpret the texts produced by oneself and others
- act naturally in various professional presentations and communicate effectively in negotiations
- argue convincingly
- act in a goal-oriented way in group writing processes and other work-related group communications
- evaluate and develop personal communication skills utilising various communicative tools and resources

Student workload

5 credit points equals approx. 135 hours of student's work. This consists on attending the contact lessons, individual studies and group work.Themes of health and sickness, socializing, moving around in nature, telling about your education and work experience. Utilizing different noun types, describing people, basics of object, simple past tense (positive and negative), stating one's opinion.

Further information

The prerequisite of this course is A2.1 level in Finnish, i.e. approx 10 cr of previous studies of Finnish. Mandatory attendance on lessons 70%.
