Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- organize and to market a low-threshold physical activity concept in your community
- justify the health and social effects of physical activity based on the researched data
- justify, as well as to understand, the difference between non-competitive and competitive club activities
- implement and to evaluate the basics of non-competitive activity in practice
Teaching methods
The implementation plan is available in Finnish.
Learning materials and recommended literature
All material will be open access. Some material is in Finnish, some in English. Material will include researches, guide books, videos and reports. Also material produced in the 6-0! project will be used during the course. All material will be available in the Canvas environment.
Co-operation with working life and/or RDI
The course is designed and realized together with the Finnish Football Association (FA). The course will also use some of the FA´s material and guidance. It also possible to discuss the possibility to work with thesis on this matter. After the course is over it is possible to use FA`s channels to find our an environment where to act, if this type of activity is at student´s interest.
Important dates
The course will kick-off on week 37 (Sept 12. ->). There are no exams on the course, but the course will be completed through different tasks. To complete the course all tasks must be done by the end of the autumn semester.
Forms of internationality
Laurea and Finnish FA are well connected internationally. So it is possible, if for some reason a student want to realize her/his practical part outside of Finland. However, this must be agreed beforehand with the course leaders. It is possible the course material will contain international guest speaker in virtual environment (in English).
Students workload
One credit is approximately 26,7 hours of student work. Because the course is mainly realized on the Canvas environment, students can proceed at their own pace on the course.
Content and scheduling
The aim of the course is to meet the growing demand for non-competitive activities in clubs. The goal is to increase social activities as a responsible member of the community and to keep social activities diverse and vibrant. The course also aims to qualify new people for non-competitive activities, to provide access to club activities, and to increase their career opportunities.
The course will start of organizing the activity, proceeds towards the evidence-based theory and clarifies the differences between non-competitive and competitive type of club action. One part of the course covers how the football fitness is organized in practice in real club environment. An independent development task will be executed during the course.

Evaluation methods and criteria
The study course includes five different units. Each unit has its own task that needs to be passed in order to pass the whole course.

There are five separate parts in the course, each with its own task. The assignments in each part must be completed according to the given criteria so that the entire course can be considered completed. Internship in a real environment is also a criterion for the approved completion of the course.
