The student is able to
• describe the most common mental health disorders in children, young people and adults and their main examination and treatment methods
• use evidence-based information and recommendations when justifying decisions, approaches and working methods used in mental health and substance abuse nursing care
• apply the principles of resource-oriented interaction in the care of a mental health and substance abuse clients and in supporting the significant others
• recognise the patient's difficult emotions, psychological strain, grief and crisis, and describe how to help the patient and their significant others to manage these difficult feelings
• describe the significance of the service system for mental health and substance abuse nursing , digital services and work in multiprofessional teams and networks
• describe the special features of medication treatment in mental health nursing
• explain the significance of ethical guidelines and legislation in mental health and substance abuse nursing
• recognise special features related to cultures and subcultures in mental health and substance abuse nursing
• analyse ethical questions related to mental health and substance abuse nursing
• analyse the significance of their own attitudes, perceptions and resources when implementing clientoriented nursing

F1_ Child and Adolescent Mental health work
(1 ECTS credits; 1,7 Chinese credits) 27 hours: 6 offline lessons; 2 online lessons; 19 hours independent work, group work, pair work, practical work

Content:
• Promoting mental health of children and adolescence
• Prevention, early recognition and treatment of childhood/youth in mental health and substance abuse problems

F2_ Mental health nursing as part of multidisciplinary collaboration
(2,5 ECTS credits; 4,2 Chinese credits) 67,5 hours: 14 offline lessons; 2 online lessons; 51,5 hours independent work, group work, pair work, practical work.

Content:
• Different mental health disorders and illnesses and their treatment in a multiprofessional collaboration
• Information about patient-nurse relationship - how to take care of depressed/bipolar/psyhcotic/anxious patient as a nurse

F3_Substance abuse nursing
(1,5 ECTS credits; 2,5 Chinese credits) 40,5 hours: 8 offline lessons; 2 online lessons; 30,5 hours independent work, group work, pair work, practical work.

• Substance abuse problems
• Addictions
• Substance abuse treatment: recognizing and assessment tools + follow-up methods
• Evidenced based interventions in treatment

F4_ Crises and crises care
(1 ECTS credits; 1,7 Chinese credits) 27 hours: 6 offline lessons; 2 online lessons; 19 hours independent work, group work, pair work, practical work

Content:
• crises and crisis management work. You learn to distinguish
• life crises and traumatic crises
• basic principles of crisis care
• The treatment of a suicidal person
