The course is useful for students in service design, digital services, computer science, business studies, security management, project management, entrepreneurship, or future studies.

In Futudemy we will practice digital service design skills with real cases using data and smart technologies. Even the most traditional and human-centric industries are becoming more data- and digitally-driven. You need to be able to work together with people with different skills to solve new problems.
- Service designers can create better services if they know how to include data, AI-based solutions, and automation in customer journeys.
- IT students or professionals gain more experience in how to solve business problems with data and technology.
- Business people learn to recognize and utilize the possibilities of data, APIs, and other smart technologies in business development.

This course is based on Futudemy, a unique idea development concept created by Osaango Oy. The course features 4 x 2h Futudemy sessions, where you’ll generate new service ideas.

Even if you have no prior experience, you will learn how to make your idea “smarter” by using data and a technology called APIs (application programming interfaces), which is essential to using data and smart technologies. Learn more about APIs: https://youtu.be/cAC66ZkYb3M

Everyone needs to work on their idea actively, but you will innovate together with other students, partners, and mentors, such as Cisco and Osaango. You will need a few hours outside the joint session to develop the ideas further.

Methods
- This is a remote course with live sessions on the Futudemy platform.
- You will receive further information and materials during the first session.
- You will collaborate with other students during the sessions, but the final work will be assessed individually.

In Futudemy we will practice digital service design skills with real cases using data and smart technologies. Kurssi soveltuu erityisesti kaupallisten aineiden, teknisten alojen tai palvelumuotoilun opiskelijoille, mutta myös muille, jotka haluavat oppia kehittämään innovaatioita hyödyntäen dataa ja erilaisia teknologioita.

Data ja digitalisaatio on osana työelämää kaikilla toimialoilla ja jokaisessa tehtävässä. Digitalisaatio ja sen mukana data tuo uusia osaamistarpeita ja haasteita työelämään.

Mitä tehdään?
Kurssilla sovelletaan palvelumuotoilun menetelmiä liiketoimintahaasteen ratkaisemiseksi. Ratkaisussa hyödynnetään dataa, ohjelmointirajapintoja (API) sekä älykkäitä teknologioita.
Jokainen osallistuja työstää kurssilla aktiivisesti tiimin yhteistä ideaa. Idean jalostamisessa auttavat myös muut opiskelijat, fasilitaattorit ja mentorit Osaangolta, Ciscolta, ja muista yhteistyöyrityksistä.
Yhteisten sessioiden jälkeen kukin tiimi työstää omaa ideaa eteenpäin menetelmän mukaisesti. Tähän kuluu aikaa vähintään 2 tuntia riippuen opiskelijan itselleen asettamista tavoitteista.

Haaste, Case Hausjärven kunta
Tällä Futudemy-toteutuksella ideoidaan ratkaisuja seuraaviin haasteisiin:
- Miten kuntien ja kylien elinvoimaa voidaan lisätä?
- Miten kuntakohtaista dataa voidaan hyödyntää palveluiden kehittämisessä?
- Miten ihmisten turvallisuutta voidaan lisätä haja-asutusalueella?

Toteutuksen valinnaiset suoritustavat

Laurean tutkintosäännön mukaisesti ”Kaikilla opiskelijoilla on oikeus osaamisensa näyttämiseen. Aloitteen hankitun osaamisen tunnistamisesta ja tunnustamisesta tekee opiskelija. Osaamisen tunnistaa ja tunnustaa opinnosta vastaava opettaja tai muu tehtävään nimetty henkilö. Arvioinnissa noudatetaan samaa arviointikriteeristöä ja pääsääntöisesti samaa arviointiasteikkoa kuin vastaavalla opintojaksolla tai -kokonaisuudella. Opiskelijalla on oikeus hakea osaamisen tunnustamista riippumatta siitä, missä, miten ja milloin osaaminen on hankittu. Opiskelija voi hakea myös työssä hankittavan osaamisen tunnistamista osaksi tutkintoa (työn opinnollistaminen). ... Opiskelija vastaa osaamisen osoittamisesta, todistamisesta ja riittävien tietojen toimittamisesta. Toteutuksen tärkeät päivämäärät

Tapaamiset ovat tiistaisin 18.10., 25.10., 1.11., ja 8.11. klo 16.00 - 18.00.

Tutkintosäännön 18§ mukaisesti ”opiskelijan on oltava ensimmäisellä kontaktikerralla läsnä tai ilmoitettava poissaolostaan vastuuopettajalle opintoon osallistumisensa vahvistamiseksi. Vaihtoehtoisesti opettaja voi määrittää myös muun tavan, jolla opiskelija vahvistaa osallistumisensa toteutukselle. Näitä toimia voidaan edellyttää viikon sisällä toteutuksen alkamisesta. Edellä esitetyn mukaisesti toimintatavan soveltaminen edellyttää, että opettaja tiedottaa toteutukselle hyväksyttyjä opiskelijoita käytänteestä ja että käytänne on kerrottu opinnon toteutussuunnitelmassa. Mikäli opiskelija on estynyt perusteluista syistä osallistumaan ensimmäiseen kontaktikertaan tai aktivoitumaan opinnoissa opettajan asettamien edellytysten mukaisesti, hänen tulee olla yhteydessä vastuuopettajaan toteutukselle osallistumisesta sopimiseksi. Ilmoittautuminen hylätään, mikäli opiskelija ei ilmoita poissaolostaan opinnon aloituskerralta tai poissaolon syytä ei voida pitää perusteltuna. Hänen tilalleen voidaan ottaa jonossa oleva seuraava opiskelija”.

Sisältö ja sen jaksotus

Kurssi toteutetaan etänä viikottaisilla yhteisillä tapaamisilla Futudemy opiskelualustalla. Tapaamiset kestävät kaksi tuntia, kerran viikossa, neljän viikon ajan.
Tapaamiset ovat tiistaisin 18.10., 25.10., 1.11., ja 8.11. klo 16.00 - 18.00.

Jokaisella tutustutaan käytettäviin menetelmiin ja ideaa edistetään näillä työkaluilla tapaamisen aikana ja saatetaan loppuun seuraavaksi kerraksi.
Yhteisillä kerroilla käydään läpi myös teoriaa ja käytännön esimerkkejä ohjelmointirajapinnoista ja kokonaisista asiakaskokemusta parantavista esimerkkiratkaisuista. Kurssilla huomioidaan myös erilaisia teknologisia ratkaisuja sen mukaan, miten ne kuuluvat osana opiskelijan ideoimaan ratkaisuun. Muut opiskelijat, fasilitoijat ja mentorit avustavat kehittämisessä. Viimeisellä kerralla ryhmä esittää ratkaisunsa muulle ryhmälle.

Futudemy-kurssi etenee seuraavasti:
1. Tutustutaan työvälineisiin, tutustutaan haasteeseen ja ideoidaan ratkaisuja sen ympärillä.
2. Valittua ideaa jalostetaan datan, ohjelmointirajapintojen ja muiden teknologisten ratkaisujen avulla Futudemy-mallin mukaisesti. Muut opiskelijat, fasilitoijat ja mentorit avustavat kehittämisessä.
3. Oppiminen lisääntyy ja ideaa viedään eteenpäin valmiiksi suunnitelmaksi.
4. Valmiit suunnitelmat esitellään muulle ryhmälle ja saadaan palaute
Oppimistavoitteiden saavuttamiseksi yhteisiin tapaamisiin osallistuminen on pakollista.

Futudemyn jälkeen
- Pystyt hyödyntämään opittuja menetelmiä uusien ideoiden kehittämiseen
- Tiedät miten hyödynnetään dataa, API-ratkaisuja ja älykkäitä teknologioita osana palvelujen suunnittelua.
- Tiedät, miten työskennellään moniammatillisessa tiimissä, joka koostuu eri toimintojen kuten datan, liiketoiminnan ja IT osaajista ja jotka yhdessä kehittävät uutta ideaa ja ratkaisua
- Osaat luoda prototyypin innovatiivisesta ratkaisusta, joka ratkaisee liiketoiminnan ongelman käyttäen dataa ja älykästä teknologiaa.
- Kurssin päätteeksi sinulla on ratkaisu, jota voit lähteä kehittämään eteenpäin tai käyttää osana portfoliotasi.

Tutkintosäännön 18§ mukaisesti ”opiskelijan on oltava ensimmäisellä kontaktikerralla läsnä tai ilmoitettava poissaolostaan vastuuopettajalle opintoon osallistumisensa vahvistamiseksi. Vaihtoehtoisesti opettaja voi määrittää myös muun tavan, jolla opiskelija vahvistaa osallistumisensa toteutukselle. Näitä toimia voidaan edellyttää viikon sisällä toteutuksen alkamisesta. Edellä esitetyn mukaisesti toimintatavan soveltaminen edellyttää, että opettaja tiedottaa toteutukselle hyväksyttyjä opiskelijoita käytänteestä ja että käytänne on kerrottu opinnon toteutussuunnitelmassa. Mikäli opiskelija on estynyt perusteluista syistä osallistumaan ensimmäiseen kontaktikertaan tai aktivoitumaan opinnoissa opettajan asettamien edellytysten mukaisesti, hänen tulee olla yhteydessä vastuuopettajaan toteutukselle osallistumisesta sopimiseksi. Sisältö ja sen jaksotus

Kurssi toteutetaan etänä viikottaisilla yhteisillä tapaamisilla Futudemy opiskelualustalla. Kirjaudu alustalle sivulla futudemy.com
Tapaamiset ovat neljänä peräkkäisenä tiistaina 20.9. alkaen klo 16-18.
Jokaisella kerralla tutustutaan käytettäviin menetelmiin ja ideaa edistetään näillä työkaluilla tapaamisen aikana ja saatetaan loppuun seuraavaksi kerraksi.
Yhteisillä kerroilla käydään läpi myös teoriaa ja käytännön esimerkkejä ohjelmointirajapinnoista ja kokonaisista asiakaskokemusta parantavista esimerkkiratkaisuista. Kurssilla huomioidaan myös erilaisia teknologisia ratkaisuja sen mukaan, miten ne kuuluvat osana opiskelijan ideoimaan ratkaisuun.
Ensimmäisellä kerralla ideoidaan ratkaisuja energiatehokkuuden ympärillä. Toisella ja kolmannella kerralla ideaa kehitetään Futudemy-mallin mukaisesti. Muut opiskelijat, fasilitoijat ja mentorit avustavat kehittämisessä. Viimeisellä kerralla ryhmä esittää ratkaisunsa muulle ryhmälle.

- Pystyt hyödyntämään opittuja menetelmiä uusien ideoiden kehittämiseen
- Tiedät miten hyödynnetään dataa, API-ratkaisuja ja älykkäitä teknologioita osana palvelujen suunnittelua.
- Tiedät, miten työskennellään moniammatillisessa tiimissä, joka koostuu eri toimintojen kuten datan, liiketoiminnan ja IT osaajista ja jotka yhdessä kehittävät uutta ideaa ja ratkaisua
- Osaat luoda prototyypin innovatiivisesta ratkaisusta, joka ratkaisee liiketoiminnan ongelman käyttäen dataa ja älykästä teknologiaa.
- Kurssin päätteeksi sinulla on ratkaisu, jota voit lähteä kehittämään eteenpäin tai käyttää osana portfoliotasi.

The hackathon-style course features 4 x 2h Futudemy sessions, where you’ll generate new business ideas based on data and APIs (application programming interfaces, essential to using data and smart technologies) together with other students, partners and mentors, such as Cisco.
Outside of the sessions you will have time to develop the ideas further while learning how to combine service design and business ideas with data, APIs and technology.
The data-driven business ideas can fit into any of the following themes: Healthcare & Social services, Security and risk management solutions, Experiences design, Information technology and cyber security or Legal design.
