If the student is familiar with the themes covered in the study unit, it is possible to contact the lecturers before the study unit begins or within the first week after the first meeting to discuss the possibility of recognizing and demonstrating the skills in the HOT-process.

The study unit contents at a glance:
- IP networks (subnetting and supernetting. Manual calculation of IP subnets).
- Configuring switches and routers - basics.
- ISO/OSI network protocol model and networks security.
Themes 2-4 are based on expert lectures on contemporary network security related issues. The themes will be published as soon as the guest lectures are agreed and verified. Some examples from previous years:
