The Student is able to
- justify the significance ofpreventing non-communicable diseases and their impact on individuals, family and society
- justify the approaches and methods of health promotion in client-oriented nursing
- plan, implement and evaluate nursing of patients with chronic illnesses and give support for self-care
- explain the main diseases and medical grounds for care in the field of internal medicine
- plan, implement and evaluate client centred guidance, and justify different approaches and guidance methods in health promotion and nursing patients with long-term illnesses
- describe the main national and international recommendations for a healthy lifestyle
- justify the good practices and methods used to assess nutritional status
- describe the main drug classifications, drugs and medicines used in long-term and acute care and their mechanisms
- justify safe vaccination practices

Mikäli sinulla on opintojakso suorittamatta, opintojakso korvautuu uuden opetussuunnitelman opinnoilla SH00BS83 Terveyden edistäminen, omahoidon tuki ja ohjaus hoitotyössä 4 op, SH00BS84 Sisätauti- ja infektiopotilaan hoitotyö 9 op, SH00BS85 Lääkehoito ja lääkelaskut 2. 3 op ja SH00BW16 Rokotusosaamisen perusteet 2 op. Huomio, että opintopistemäärä on uuden opetussuunnitelman opintojen mukaan isompi kuin aikaisemmassa opetussuunnitelmassa. Käy keskustelu opettajatuutorisi kanssa opintojen kokonaisuuteen liittyen.
