Teaching methods

Stress Tolerance -study unit is addressed primarily to the 3. and 4. year students, who may face stress in their study conduction, thesis planning or writing and in work placements. Contact sessions are held at Laurea Tikkurila on Tuesdays and at Laurea Leppävaara on Fridays. You can participate the sessions in the campus most convenient to you regardless your home campus. In addition, three contact sessions are held in visiting places ( Winter Garden, art gallery, Chapel of Silence).
Canvas learning space is used. There are some online sessions, too.

Learning materials and recommended literature

Electronic material from different sources is used actively:
Mind Tools Open Sources.
Time Management Tools.
Stress Management Tools.
E-tests and analysis of the results in the teams.

Co-operation with working life and/or RDI

The Stress Tolerance - study unit is open for all international and Finnish students at Laurea. Groups are multicultural. Networking with fellow students and shared stories are a big learning outcome of the study unit.

Forms of internationality

This is an international and multicultural learning environment and we learn from one another in interactive practices.
A lovely way to share and learn stress tolerance methods from different cultures and countries.
Individual and collective learning outcome.

Personal Study Plan.
Time management skills.
Stress symptoms.
Protective and risk factors.
Mindfulness practices.
Relaxation: a study visit.
How can you manage your stress?
Share your story in the end of the study unit.

Further information for students

Contact sessions are held at Laurea Tikkurila on Tuesdays and at Laurea Leppävaara on Fridays. You can participate the sessions in the campus most convenient to you regardless your home campus. It is very important to participate the first session, either at Laurea Tikkurila or Laurea Leppävaara (see the schedule).

Teaching methods

Stress Tolerance -study unit is addressed primarily to the 3. and 4. year students, who may face stress in their study conduction, thesis planning or writing and in work placements. There are scheduled six sessions now, and we will decide about the remaining three sessions together.
Contact sessions are mainly held in class rooms and in visiting places ( Winter Garden, art gallery, Chapel of Silence).
Canvas learning space is used. There are some online sessions, too.
There must be 20 students to make this study unit. Therefor, we may combine Laurea Tikkurila and Leppävaara study units.

Location and time

The sessions are regularly held at Laurea Tikkurila and Laurea Leppävaara. You can participate one session a week in the campus most convenient to you regardless your home campus.
