Description
Ortopedisen osteopatian opinnot ovat 36 op:n kokonaisuus AMK-tasoisia ammatti- ja perusopintoja osana ortopedisen osteopatian 4-vuotista koulutusta (240 op). Tutkinnon kokonaistoteutuksesta vastaa Ortopedisen Osteopatian koulutuskeskus. Laureassa opiskellaan osteopatiaa tukevia aineita, kuten mikrobiologiaa, ravitsemusoppia ja sisätauteja. Terveydenhuoltoalan ammattilaisena osteopaatilla tulee olla ymmärrys sosiaali- ja terveysalan lainsäädännöstä ja moniammatillisesta toiminnasta. Lääketieteen jatkuva kehitys vaatii tutkitun tiedon eli näyttöön perustuvan terveydenhuollon (evidence-based medicine) ymmärtämistä ja oman oppimisen kehittämistä koko työuran aikana. Näitä aineita opiskellaan myös ammattikorkeakoulussa. Lisäksi korkeakouluopintoihin kuuluvat kieliopinnot englannista ja ruotsista.
