Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- follow simple speech and conversation about familiar topics
- interpret short, simple discussion and message core contents that interests them such as instructions, announcements, as well as noticing the change of topics.
- start and discontinue a short dialogue but seldom is able to maintain longer conversations.
- pronounce Finnish words understandably even though pronunciation mistakes may cause some difficulties for others to understand.
- Understand simple text that consists mainly of the most frequent vocabulary (such as messages, news, everyday instructions).
Core content:
- Using different strategies in listening comprehension
- Challenging sounds of Finnish, tone of voice in word and sentence level
- Explaining a written or spoken text
- Starting and ending a conversation as well as the most frequent reactions.
Target level: A2.1. in Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
