Esitietovaatimukset
Opintojaksolle ilmoittautuvilla tulee olla turvallisuus- ja riskienhallinnan perusteiden riittävä osaaminen, jonka voi hankkia esimerkiksi suorittamalla opintojakson HT00BN79/ HT00CC30 Yritysturvallisuuden ja riskienhallinnan perusteet (10 op; tarjolla 12/2024 asti) tai suorittamalla opintojakson TO00BS57 Turvallisuusjohtamisen ja riskienhallinnan perusteet (5 op; tarjolla 12/2024 asti) tai HT00CD70 Organisaatioturvallisuuden ja riskienhallinnan perusteet (tarjolla 1/2025 alkaen).
Tavoitteet
Opiskelija osaa
- suunnitella häiriötilanteiden hallinnassa tarvittavan organisaation ja vastuut
- kehittää organisaation osaamista häiriötilanteisiin varautumisessa
- johtaa toimintaa häiriötilanteissa
- suunnitella ja toteuttaa kriisiviestintää
- toteuttaa häiriötilanteiden jälkihoitoon liittyviä toimenpiteitä
Toteutustapa
The study unit is conducted as contact and virtual teaching, as well as self-study and related individual and small group assignments.
The more detailed implementation of the course is described in the Important Dates of the implementation.
Oppimateriaali ja suositeltava kirjallisuus
The teaching material used for the study unit can be found in Canvas. There is no recording of contact teaching, but lectures in the zoom will be recorded.

Toteutuksen valinnaiset suoritustavat
Recognition of prior studies:
If you have completed comparable studies earlier in another higher education institution, be in touch with your head of student affairs.
Demonstration of competence:
According to the degree regulations “all students are entitled to demonstrate their competence. The recognition and accreditation of prior competence is initiated by the students themselves. Toteutuksen tärkeät päivämäärät
According to the Laurea degree rule, the student must be present at the first contact session or notify the responsible teacher to confirm his or her attendance to the study unit. If the student is not able to taking part in the first contact session for a good reason, he or she must be in advance in contact with the responsible teacher in order to maintain the place in study unit.
The timetable for the course dates is available in Lukkarikone and on the course Canvas.
It is recommended that most of the student team will attend the preparatory webinar about the tabletop exercise. Attendance in the exercise on 12 March is mandatory for every student. If you are unable to participate, agree on that with the teacher and do a substitute essay.
Kansainvälisyys toteutuksella
International standards and publications will be used as a study material. The students will participate in the international tabletop exercise about cross-border rescue operations.
Opiskelijan ajankäyttö ja kuormitus
On average, one credits corresponds to about 27 hours of student work; 5 ECTS = 135 hours. The workload distribution is estimated to be as follows:
- Contact teaching: 27h
- Online teaching: 3h
- Preparatory and complementary e-learning and independent study: 25h
- Personal Learning Assignment: 50h
- Group assignment 30h.
Sisältö ja sen jaksotus
After completing the study unit the student is able to:
- plan the organisation and responsibilities necessary for managing disruptions
- develop and organizations competence in preparedness for disruptions
- manage operations in the event of a disruption
- plan and implement crisis communications
- implement operations needed for the aftercare of disruptions.

Before enrolling to this study unit, you should have adequate competence of safety, security and risk management, which you can acquire for example by completing study unit HT00BN79 Basics of Corporate Safety, Security and Risk Management (10 cr) or TO00BS57 Basic Theory of Corporate Safety, Security and Risk Management (5 cr) at Open University of Applied Sciences

Arviointimenetelmät ja arvioinnin perusteet
Competence assessment focuses on the target descriptions of the curriculum and the level of competence is evaluated on the basis of the evaluation criteria stated in the implementation plan (Laurea's degree rule). This study unit uses the criteria of the Bachelor's Degree Assessment Frame II of the Bachelor's degree in Requirement II.
The study unit will be evaluated on a scale of Fail, 1-5. The grade is given on the basis of the personal assignment. In addition, the Barents Rescue Exercise and Crisis Communication Plan and Workshop will be evaluated Pass/Fail. All of the above mentioned assignments must be successfully completed to pass the study unit.
Evaluated partial performance of all of which must be done in an acceptable way:
- Personal learning assignment. Evaluation Fail/1-5.
- Participation in the Barents Rescue exercise or a replacement task. Evaluation Pass/Fail.
- The group assignment. Evaluation Pass/Fail.
- Participation in a crisis communication workshop or a replacement task. Evaluation Pass/Fail.
Evaluations of both learning assignments, as well as replacement tasks of exercise and workshop has the rubric, which contains more detailed, task -specific evaluation criterias.
A student who has not completed the assignments or exams assigned to pass the course shall be supplemented or retake in the way and within the time defined by the teacher. A failed exam or other performance can be retaken twice. Failure to participate in the actual exam is counted as one of the performances. (Laurea's degree rule.)
All Laurea actors are expected to follow good scientific practices that include appropriate sources. Get to know and ask for practices if necessary. The learning assignments are checked by a plagiarism inspection program.

- Describe the significance of his/her actions for successful co-operation
- Describe his/her competence in relation to the learning outcomes.

To achieve grade 3 student must be able to:

- Critically evaluate information and justify their actions with science-based knowledge.

To achieve grade 5 student must be able to:
- Evaluate and develop the team’s entrepreneurial and responsible approach to work
- Evaluate the possibilities for utilising competence and plan his/her personal development and development of the team
- Analyse the acquired information, draw conclusions and combine theoretical knowledge with experiential knowledge
- Evaluate the applicability of produced knowledge, skill or idea to other contexts as well as their impact
- Anticipate needs of customers and/or co-operation partners.
