Online part: 4 sessions in ZOOM: 3 February 2025 (dates: 3.2., 17.3. afternoon, 9. & 12 March - afternoon)
Mobility part: intensive week: 17-21 March 2025. at ISCTE Lisbon Portugal, (Erasmus+ funded)

Teaching methods

The course consists of two (2) mandatory parts: a virtual learning period and the physical mobility (intensive week, 5 days) part.
The BIP II -course is organized annually in Spring Semester and consists of 4 modules: technology, entrepreneurship, digital marketing and design for services.

BIP II: Technologies and Businesses, Emerging Technologies for Entrepreneurship; focus is entrepreneurship (venturing, startups) coordinated by ISCTE Lisbon, Portugal ( more information available on 16 Sept 2024).

Blended Intensive Programms (BIPs) offer new and more flexible forms of mobility, in which physical mobility is combined with virtual learning for Master’s students. The BIP course always consists of two mandatory parts: a virtual learning period and the physical mobility (intensive week, 5 days) part.
The intensive week is financially supported with Erasmus funding (travel costs).

Main learning objectives of BIP II: Technologies & Businesses
- Deepen the understanding of technologies within the context of service business design and service development.
- Gain practical experience through the development of a service innovation.
- Gain insight into the dynamics of technology platforms and digital tools
- Analyze and reflect on cross-cultural collaboration and learning in international setting

This BIP II Technologies & Businesses -course will be organized annually during the SPRING SEMESTER!
The coordinating university varies yearly as will the focus area.
The mobility is Erasmus+ funded, further details from the Laurea international affairs office!

Employer connections

There will be a commissioning party for the students' group work; ie. a case.
The student teams will develop a solution for the case.

Exam schedules

Tutkintosäännön 18§ mukaisesti ”opiskelijan on oltava ensimmäisellä kontaktikerralla läsnä tai ilmoitettava poissaolostaan vastuuopettajalle opintoon osallistumisensa vahvistamiseksi. Vaihtoehtoisesti opettaja voi määrittää myös muun tavan, jolla opiskelija vahvistaa osallistumisensa toteutukselle. Näitä toimia voidaan edellyttää viikon sisällä toteutuksen alkamisesta. Edellä esitetyn mukaisesti toimintatavan soveltaminen edellyttää, että opettaja tiedottaa toteutukselle hyväksyttyjä opiskelijoita käytänteestä ja että käytänne on kerrottu opinnon toteutussuunnitelmassa. Mikäli opiskelija on estynyt perusteluista syistä osallistumaan ensimmäiseen kontaktikertaan tai aktivoitumaan opinnoissa opettajan asettamien edellytysten mukaisesti, hänen tulee olla yhteydessä vastuuopettajaan toteutukselle osallistumisesta sopimiseksi. Ilmoittautuminen hylätään, mikäli opiskelija ei ilmoita poissaolostaan opinnon aloituskerralta tai poissaolon syytä ei voida pitää perusteltuna. Hänen tilalleen voidaan ottaa jonossa oleva seuraava opiskelija”.

Content scheduling

The BIP II -program
consists of 4 modules: technology, entrepreneurship (venturing, business design), digital marketing and design for services.
The modules are introduced during the online sessions.

The new knowledge acquired will be applied in practice during the intensive week (a development challenge).
