At Laurea, there are two different procedures for the recognition and accreditation of prior learning: a) accreditation of prior learning (competence acquired in higher education studies at another institution) and b) demonstration of competence (competence acquired in other ways). The recognition and accreditation of prior learning is initiated by the student themselves. The student is responsible for demonstrating and verifying their competence. The student is entitled to guidance for the recognition and accreditation of their competence. Further information in the student intranet.

This study unit is evaluated numerically on a scale of T1-K5.
Participation in the orientation task: completed/in progress (10 points)
The course is graded as a single overall grade, which is formed as follows:
The Nurse’s Cost Consciousness assignment is worth 25 points.
The Risk Management in Nursing test is worth a maximum of 25 points. The passing threshold is 12/25.
These two components together account for 40% of the overall grade.
The numerically assessed assignment is My Leadership Plan (maximum 100 points).
In the assessment of the plan, the student’s self-assessment is emphasized. The student completes it using the scoring in the assessment rubric.
The assessment rubric and the student’s self-assessment help the teacher provide feedback and speed up the assessment process.
In the overall grade, this assignment accounts for 60%.
Active participation in discussions is required, and they are marked as completed/done.
All students have right to try to improve their grade once. Student has to inform course teachers about their desire to improve their grade within six months from grading. Improving applies to the whole study unit. Student must provide a plan how they are improving their competence before improving the grade. Improvement can't be done before the student has passed the whole study unit. Teachers of the study unit decide when and how the improvement is done.
