Tavoitteet

The student is able to
- analyse the health risks and threats to the populations’ health on community and individual level
- apply recommendations and research information related to the prevention of chronic illnesses when planning and implementing guidance on healthy lifestyles for patients and their families
- plan and implement interventions to promote health and functional capacity for individuals and significant others in utilising multiprofessional cooperation and networks
- plan, implement and evaluate resource-based guidance and online guidance that supports individual self-management with varying pedagogical methods and with ethical justifications
- describe guidance and information related to the prevention and control of infectious diseases

2) Population health and factors influencing health behavior
3) Guiding the customer and supporting change in lifestyle
4) Common communicable diseases, prevention, control, monitoring and tracing of communicable diseases.

A student who has not completed the assignments or exams set for passing the course must complete or renew his or her performance in the manner and within the time specified by the teacher of the course. A failed exam or other performance can be renewed twice. Failure to participate in the actual exam is counted as one performance. (Laurea's degree regulations.)

All Laurea students are expected to adhere to good scientific practice, including appropriate citation of sources. Familiarize yourself with and ask about these practices if necessary. All study assignments are done as individual work, unless otherwise instructed in the assignment. The teacher will inform separately if Urkund will be used for the reports.

The assessment of competence focuses on the objective descriptions of the curricula and the level of competence is assessed on the basis of the assessment criteria announced in the Study Implementation Plan (Laurea's degree regulations).

Student collects points from the individual tasks and tests in Canvas as well as from the group exam:

Module 1.
-Test your knowledge: Concepts of health promotion, max 20 points

Module 2.
-Health and well-being inequalities, max10 points
-Test your knowledge: Starting points for health promotion, max 20 points
-Test your knowledge: Lifestyles i.e. health behavior, max 30 points

Module 3.
-Motivational discussion, max 15 points
-Review the stages of change with matching game, max 15 points

Module 4.
Test your knowledge: Infectious diseases, max 20 points

Module 5.
-Group exam, max 150 points
-Reflective diary, max 10+60 points

Total max 350 points
