Sisältö ja sen jaksotus

The course consists of three modules, which are:

1. Physiotherapy that supports the functioning of the heart and circulatory system
2. Physiotherapy that supports the functioning of the respiratory system
3. Lifestyle guidance of the client

Lifestyle coaching is always included in the treatment and rehabilitation of a client suffering from a malfunction of the heart or respiratory system. Physical activity and increasing it play a significant role in that. Lifestyle coaching is also central to the prevention of various lifestyle diseases. In lifestyle coaching, a value- and acceptance-based approach based on the client's needs is used as an approach to physiotherapeutic guidance and counseling (= coaching) (Kauravaara & Kangasniemi 2016).

The course includes lectures, visits by experienced experts and experts, workshop work and a multidisciplinary simulation exercise of a client family, where you act as a physiotherapist. The workshops have 100% attendance. Absences and substitutions must be agreed in advance with the teacher. In addition, you will develop your skills in the physiotherapy of a client with a heart and respiratory disease through assignments. The simulation situation also requires preparation in advance.
