Basic Nursing Skills – Practice (5op)

Tavoitteet

The student is able to
- use aseptic techniques appropriately
- provide basic care to clients
- apply MAPA-techniques appropriately
- plan, implement and evaluate an Learning by Developing (LbD) -project

A) Workshops in the skills lab
B) MAPA workshop
C) LbD project: Contact lessons, implementation of project in a nursing environment and seminar presentations

Oppimateriaali ja suositeltava kirjallisuus

A) Workshops: Re study all material given during lectures (Basics of nursing) , and also the text books, and videos.
B) Material will be given in class
C) LbD-implementation 2 ECTS: (will be given by lecturer)

-LbD project will be planned and implemented in collaboration between educators, students and working life partners.

A: Workshops 2.5cr = 67.5h. Workshops in school 24 h, Independent study 43.h
B) MAPA 0.5cr = 13.5 h.
C) LbD- project 2cr = 54hours

A) Basic nursing intervention 1 workshop 2.5cr. (Emma Tamankag & Riikka Mulder)
- Asepsis
-Making a hospital bed
-Basic care
-Prevention pressure ulcer/positioning
-Palliative care
-Preparing a dead body
-Oral care
-Feeding a client.

B) . MAPA 0.5 cr (Emma Tamankag)
- Skills for Management of Actual or Potential Aggression.

B) LbD-implementation 2 cr: (Jonna Vierula)
