Osaamistavoitteet

The students will be able to
describe the main concepts and the operating environments of nursing
have a professional discussion on the core values in nursing and on the application of the ethical principles of the profession
explain the importance of the main acts and regulations governing social welfare and health care
plan, implement and evaluate nursing care and activities of daily living under guidance
observe and assess changes in vital function and act accordingly
realistically evaluate their abilities to form a professional interaction relationship with clients
document nursing according to the national model under guidance
apply methods and operational models that promote patient safety and occupational safety in patient care
apply the basics of safe pharmaceutical care
implement enteral, parenteral and topical drug administration
administer first aid

At least 80% attendace is needed to be able to complete the course. If a student is absent from a contact lesson (20%) they will have to do a make up assignment to show their understanding of the subject matter.
