Osaamistavoitteet

Opiskelija osaa:
- määrittää kriminologian ja rikoksentorjunnan periaatteet ja soveltaa niitä
- määrittää rikoksentorjuntaan liittyvät toimijat ja niiden tehtävät
- arvioida ja hallita organisaatioihin kohdistuvia rikosriskejä
- luoda organisaation rikosriskien tilannekuva
- laatia suunnitelma ja menettelyt rikosten torjumiseksi

Toteutustapa

This study unit is a melange of academic lectures and practitioners point-of-views together with a assignments on crime prevention, not forgetting an online exam in which learnings of selected literature (and notes from the lectures) will be assessed.

The studies contains classroom teaching, online teaching, as well as independent work.

The stress is on theories of criminology and how to apply them in real world crime prevention.

According to the degree regulations “all students are entitled to demonstrate their competence. The recognition and accreditation of prior competence is initiated by the students themselves. The competence is recognised and accredited by the teacher responsible for the module or study unit or another person designated by the director of the UAS unit.

The assignment must be returned by 5th of December 23.59! Please note: Returning your assignment late will lower your grade.

Online Exam on Monday 12th of December from 10:00 to 23:30 OR on Friday 16th, from 10:00 to 23:30;
Retake on Monday the 19th of December, from 10:00 to 23:30.
The online exams are arranged so that you have 60 minutes to complete the exam within the time window (10:00 - 23:59). However, you must start taking the online exam before 22:59 to be able to utilise the whole time allocated for the exam.

Before enrolling to this study unit, you should have adequate competence level of safety, security and risk management, which you can acquire for example by completing study unit Business Continuity 5 credits or Basics of Corporate Safety, Security and Risk Management 10 credits

Online exam (40 % of the total points of the study unit)
Assignment (60 % of the total points of the study unit)

Grading scale:

5 87 – 100 points

Approved completion of the study unit requires that you will receive minimum 40 points in total, however, both the assignment must be returned and the online exam has to be done.

Returning your assignment late will lower your grade.
