Content

The course delves into supporting social inclusion from a pedagogical and well-being perspective in practical international education. The starting point is a social pedagogical approach to work and strengthening inclusion. The course develops people-oriented work, mentoring, planning, implementation and evaluation of mentoring.

The course includes e.g. ball game day, excursion and outdoor day, adventure and orienteering day, and dance and creative methods. Participation in the course does not require special skills in sports, the main theme of the episode is everyone's right of to movement, inclusion, community and accessibility.

Teaching methods

The course delves into supporting social inclusion from a pedagogical and well-being perspective in practical education. The starting point is a social pedagogical approach to work and strengthening inclusion. The course develops people-oriented work, mentoring, planning, implementation and evaluation of mentoring.

The training includes e.g. ball day, excursion and outdoor day, adventure and orienteering day, and dance and creative methods. Participation in the section does not require special skills in sports, but the main theme of the section is the right of everyone to movement, inclusion, community and accessibility.
The training locations are Laurea's Leppävaara and Tikkurila offices, the Kuusijärvi outdoor area and Sipoonkorpi. Participants should prepare for 3-8 hour days in outdoor conditions, but no special skills are required.

The training will take place on intensive days 31 August-3 September 2021. The language of instruction is English. Peer interpretation and support is available.
The course can be customized according to the student’s personal learning plan. The group can accommodate a maximum of 5 students in different fields.
Method of completion: participation in training days, acting as an assistant instructor if necessary and according to one's own competence. A learning diary from the period and short texts to consider according to your own learning plan.

The episode is part of the Disciplins project, a joint project of the Laurea Vantaa campus, Spain (University of Seville, University of Loyola, Incoma) and the Italian Volleyball Association.
