    Learning outcomes of the course
    The student is able to
    - utilize different tools to raise awareness on chronic diseases among immigrants from Africa and Middle East living in the Metropolitan area
    - provide guidance on chronic diseases´ causes, prevention, and management
    - plan, implement and evaluate the interventions and suggestions for future development
    - develop the essential contents of health information skills
    - cooperate with working life partners
    - develop outreach work with the immigrant communities
    - develop own work as a professional to be able to assess client´s health and to promote their wellbeing
    - promote health using social media
    - help immigrants from Africa and Middle East to develop trust of the health care system and information provided by health care professional
    - perform health checks to determine participants´ health status Understand health determinants from cultural perspective
    - work in a multidisciplinary team
    - guide immigrant clients on the use of Digi-health services and applications in promoting own health

    Further information for students

    There will be 4 joint lessons with DIAK students in this project. Two lessons will be held in DIAK and 2 at Laurea Tikkurila campus. Students´ travel expenses will be covered by the project

    Students will work in small groups and will decide when to have their group meetings. Each group chooses the organization they want to work with, as long as it is from Africa and Middle East. Participants can be adults, men and/or women

    PARTICIPATING IN ALL PROJECT CONTACT DAYS AND MEETING IS OBLIGATORY!!!

    Chronic disease guidance event in the metropolitant area. (The venue will be announced later) Student will measure and give guidance on blood pressure, cholesterol, hemoglobin, blood sugar, vitamin D and calcium, stress and depression.
