The study unit is based on weekly meetings and weekly work at Optima for a period of 6 weeks. At the end there is an exam in Optima. It is highly recommended that the student has finished either "R0242 Tietoverkot ja tietoturva" or "R0280 Data networks and security" (or "Tietoverkkoarkkitehtuuri/Network architecture" in the previous curriculum) to be able to work efficiently in this study unit. At the minimum, the student must have prior basic understanding of IP protocols and the structure and operation of internet.
The evaluation during this study unit is based on the assignments at Optima, working during the classroom meetings and the final exam.

The first meeting is obligatory. The normal course requires attendance in at least 4/6 of the weekly meetings. Other opportunities may be discussed with lecturers.

The study unit is designed to go deeper into internet infrastructure security issues after the introductory study unit R0280. Working during the study unit is done both in groups (during the weeksly meetings) and individually (between the meetings on-line).
