Research and Development Methods (5 cr)

Objective

The student is able to
- choose the proper methods for development project and give reasons for these choices
- collect empirical data and analyse it
- interpret empirical results and make conclusions based on them
- recognizes the ethical point of view of the research and development work
- evaluate the reliability and validity of research
- apply the principles of research communication orally and in writing
- draw up and interpret research and development reports

Location and time

- Not dependent on place or time (virtual studies)
- Counselling in Leppävaara campus

- No predefined learning material
- Learning material is published in each study module

Toteutustapa

- Virtual studies, frequent virtual learning and assignments
- There are no compulsory assignments and a student is responsible for his/her studies
- Module based offering with clear dealines
- The target is to prepare a student for the thesis process

- Study unit ends on week 48
- Detailed schedule is released at the beginning of the study unit
- NOTE: There can be scheduling changes

- Study unit will last 14 weeks
