Advanced Finnish for NursingLaajuus (5 op)

Tavoitteet

The student is able to:
- start a conversation and help keep it going by asking people relatively spontaneous questions about their professional field.
- understand instructions accurately and provide concrete information required in an interview/consultation or other work-related situation (e.g. describe symptoms to a doctor), but with limited precision.
- explain and report the main points of an idea or problem with reasonable precision.
- describe how to do something, giving detailed instructions in nursing situations.
- understand straightforward, factual texts on subjects relating to their field.
- understand instructions and procedures in the form of a continuous text, for instance, in Current Care Guidelines (Käypä hoito), provided they are familiar with the type of process or product concerned.
- summarise, report and give their opinion about accumulated factual information on familiar routine and non-routine matters within their field with some confidence.
- reach the target level of B1.2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages

After completing this study unit and TO00BP62 Mid-studies Test in Finnish, the student studying physiotheraphy will receive a language competence entry in their degree certificate with numerical assessments of both their oral and written performances (effective 18th of August 2023).
