Learning outcomes
The student is able to:
- support and guide various clients and client groups in a goal-oriented manner
- analyse and apply the methods used in professional work
- perceive and understand the basic tasks of the work community and the organisation
- play an active and responsible part in the activities of the work community
- observe the ethical principles of the social care sector
Teaching methods
The internship (15 cr / 10 weeks) is carried out in a private or public early childhood education unit.
The student acquires the internship, and registers it in the Laurea system. The internship must have a work supervisor with at least a qualification of ECEC socionom. In addition, the student will receive a supervising lecturer from Laurea.
The internship includes assignments and mentoring meetings.

Alternative completion methods of implementation
Internships can be paid or unpaid.
If the student already has the skills which are the goals of the internship, optional methods of performance can be agreed with the supervising lecturer.

The internship involves close co-operation with working life.
