Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- describe the basic concepts related to gerontechnology
- evaluate user experiences and the suitability of technology and technology-based services from the point of view of the client’s health, functional capacity and quality of life
- support and guide an elderly person to use technology
- discuss the utilisation of health technology and its possibilities in services for the elderly, and the challenges related to introducing such technology
- describe and explain what kind of digital services and solutions are available and their future development
- participate in multidisciplinary development and networking collaboration in the field of health and gerontechnology while utilising customer understanding
- use and take advantage of technological solutions in the care of and services for an elderly person living at home
- describe research results obtained on the impact of technological solutions on the well-being of an elderly person
