Teaching methods

There are two parts in this course.
a) common, individual ONLINE studies related to digital sales & marketing on Laurea's Canvas-learning management system.
b) customer development PROJECT done in teams in Laurea Leppävaara Digital Living Lab. Students will be teamed up and they can select customer or R&D project from the list or suggest their own one (e.g. related to entrepreneurship).

Location and time

A) Online studies can be accomplished on given timebox freely.
B) Customer projects coaching is available weekly at Leppävaara -campus on Digital Living Lab, room 247. Online support is available at Trello -platform.

Material bank & instructions are online at www.digitallivinglab.com. We will use Trello.com as an agile project collaboration tool.

Co-operation with working life and/or RDI

For project studies, the group work is real-life digital development project for Laurea's customers&partners. Also, student entrepreneurship can be supported if student wants to advance business idea (e.g. ecommerce as sales agent for external company). We aim to develop Laurea-level digital capabilities and agile way of working as well.

Important dates

Project coaching is available between August 31, 2020 and October 19, 2020 at 15-17 on Leppävaara room 247. The kick off on September 1 is at 15-17.

Forms of internationality

Study unit is suitable for exchange students. International projects are supported based on availability via our partner school network and RDI-projects. The students are encouraged to form cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary teams.

Content and scheduling

A) Online studies for basic concepts and tools (digital marketing, digital sales, content marketing, marketing analytics, social CRM) and B) digital business development project for customers (agile project management, team work, digital services, website, ecommerce, digital marketing channels).

Further information for students

The study unit consists of two parts:
A. Online studies 50%
B. Project work for customers 50% (with 360-degree feedback from personal reflection, team members, customer and coaches). Working with customers require professional attitude and behaviour to ensure the smooth communication and collaboration, project delivery and enhancing Laurea's reputation amongst the regional partners.

Evaluation methods and criteria

For PROJECTS: Two parts: A) online studies and B) customer project Purpose of A) is to get students familiar with key concepts. Purpose of B) is to get students familiar with the practical work done in companies and develop their working life competencies. Both of these are planned to increase the skills in demand by companies and hence employability of Laurea graduates.

Grades 3-4:

Grade 5:
Customer, team member and coaches agree that deliverables to customer’s assignment are in professional level. Way of working has been collaborative and constructive. Digital Living Lab has gained common assets for other projects.
