Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- explain basic concepts of chemistry
- classify substances as pure substances, compounds or mixtures
- recognise strong and weak bonds and determine the bond types of two elements and their significance for, e.g., the state of the substance
- the most common functional groups of basic carbon compounds, their names and reaction types, and their significance for the properties of the carbon compounds
- calculate amounts of substances and concentrations
