The student is able to
- demonstrate knowledge and understanding of social work principles, practices and methods used with multicultural individuals and families
- analyze the process of cultural adaptation and its impact on the development of a cultural identity
- understand the role of family work
- use various methods and means of family work
- demonstrate knowledge of legislation associated with children & families
- analyze cultural structures and processes that produce inequality

Materials
Learning materials and recommended literature are informed once the course starts.
Teaching methods
The study unit consists of video-lectures, literature and individual as well as group assignments. You are able to work on the assignments at your own time and pace, though activity and participation in for example online discussions are expected during the course.

Student is able to study the materials and work on the assignments at her/his own pace. Active participation and discussions during the course are expected during the course.
