Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- recognise benefits and threats of technological solutions from a professional, societal and global perspective
- analyse end user needs in developing technological solutions
- recognize opportunities for technological solutions to empower and engage clients and patients in social and health care work

Materials

Materials are provided during the course. Materials used are available online or in the Campus libraries.

Teaching methods

In this course, the students will study technological solutions, good practices and projects in health and wellness promotion in social and health care worldwide.
In the Autumn 2022 course the focus lies on digital divide, digital skills and participation, good practices for inclusion in digital social- and health related services.

The course does not require great technological skills or experience from the student.

The study unit is given both on campus and online.

Learning activities consist of both individual and group assignments.
During the course students create
- A workshop on practical digital skills for first year social care students
- Presentations
- A final learning reflection

Some of the key themes approached are multidiciplinary perspectives, enhanced end-user engagement, eServices, empowerment, social connectivity, quality of life, inclusion through digital skills and AI-based services are central. Also, the concept of sustainability as well as the future of circular economy is studied during the course.

For supplementary or delayed tasks, there will be no feedback.
