Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- apply the principles of evidence-based nursing in the care of palliative patients and their next-of-kin
- assess the symptoms of palliative patients and apply the principles of evidence-based nursing in different stages of palliative and hospice care
- plan, carry out and assess the pain management of palliative patients
- apply the principles of family health care in the psychosocial support of patients with cancer and their next-of-kin
- have a professional approach to the emotions of hospice patients and their next-of-kin concerning death
- justify the importance of nursing expertise in a multidisciplinary palliative care team
