Learning outcomes
Student is able to:
- identify customer-driven decision-making criteria from both the perspective; of the individual and the society
- take advantage of the evaluation data on the quality and effectiveness of social and health services
- describe the relationship between demand and supply and its impact on social and health care
- specify the criteria for measuring the quality of life
- describe the significance and results of interventions in social and health care
- describe economic efficiency, productivity and effectiveness, and is able to identify them in decision-making processes in the social and health sectors
- utilize various innovation methods to develop new products and/or services in their own work

Teaching methods
After completing the learning path (15 sc), the student identifies the core issues of earnings logic in the social and health sectors (companies, municipal actors, associations) and key business results. Students learn the basics of social and health economics and wellbeing economics, which include not only economic evaluation methods, but also key issues related to health behavior and health care systems. The student understands the impact of new technologies in the social and health sector in the social and health care environment and is able to form a business model. He is able to draw up different calculations to support the planning of operations.
Active participation in lectures and workshops, literature exam (applied, literature can be included, literature given in advance) and CASE work in groups. NOTE! The studies are completed at 15 credits.
