Teaching methods
This course has a combination of contact lessons and individual work. It includes:
• Oral and intercultural communication skills needed for the healthcare setting
• Reflective written skills
• Intercultural and multicultural considerations whn providing healthcare
Completion alternatives
AHOT (RPL – recognition of prior learning) and workplace acquired competences should be discussed with the teacher and then applied for. Suitable compensatory tasks will be developed accordingly.
Student workload
For a 3 credit course you should be doing 81 hours of work. For this course it includes:
Contact lessons: 20 hours
Reflective learing diary and study material: 61 hours
Content scheduling
•As this is a communications course, compulsory attendance during the whole course is expected (80%)
• The evaluation criteria for the course are available in Canvas
• Various assignments will also be given during the course which also need to be completed to pass the course.
• The final grade of pass/fail from the course will be given based on the aforementioned criteria
