Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- plan, carry out and assess the nursing of seriously ill patients by comprehensively integrating their competence, as set out in the national competence requirements for nurses
- analyse and outline the challenges to decision-making arising from the physical, mental and social needs of clients as well as the unpredictable and complex work environment
- analyse, lead and prioritise their own clinical work depending on the patient’s and the operating environment’s requirements
Materials
The learning material is reported in Canvas for palliative care and assessment of the need for care.
Teaching methods
The course includes online studies, simulation and workshops. The study unit includes medication calculation exams, the YleSH test for palliative care and the YleSH final exam. Exams are held on campus. YleSh exams require a computer.
